Dataset Viewer API returning 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable for all datasets

Hello Hugging Face team,

The Dataset Viewer appears to be unavailable for me across all datasets.

I am getting the following error when accessing the Dataset Viewer API:

https://datasets-server.huggingface.co/is-valid?dataset=gbharti/finance-alpaca

Response:
503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
Unexpected token ‘<’, “…” is not valid JSON

I have tested:

  • Multiple datasets (including public datasets like gbharti/finance-alpaca)
  • Signed in and signed out
  • Different browsers
  • Desktop and mobile devices

The issue appears to affect the Dataset Viewer service rather than a specific dataset configuration.

Could someone confirm if there is an ongoing issue with datasets-server or guide troubleshooting?

Hi, yes we are working on it, trying to get it fixed soon !

is there an ETA on this? it’s a critical workflow for us and has been broken for over a day.
