If your happy place is retrieve → rank → explain, and you’ve shipped real systems in the wild, this is your arena.
You’re a home-run fit if you’ve:

built two-stage retrieval + reranking (bi-encoder → cross-encoder / LLM reranker)
-
lived inside ranking eval (NDCG/MRR/Recall@K) and online/offline correlation
-
shipped production RAG / semantic search over messy corpora
-
care about explainability (not just scores — reasons)
-
love fast loops: prototype → ship → measure → iterate weekly
