Just wanted to check in and see how everyone else is getting on with the new Qwen 3.8 27B model?
I’ve been running the UD-Q5_K_M GGUF over the last week on an xhigh reasoning effort profile for an extensive coding project using OpenCode. The depth of the reasoning engine is absolutely phenomenal for complex architectural code structures, though it does naturally get a bit slow when the thinking loops kick into overdrive.
My main curiosity right now is hardware endurance. It’s currently pushing my AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT up to around 90°C for a solid 10 hours a day under these heavy generation runs. It’s working perfectly fine, but seeing those temperatures sustained during long development blocks is definitely keeping me on my toes!
I’ve already got a strict, hand-rolled context management setup in place to handle the token limits and keep the project stable, so I’m sorted on the software logic side. I’m mostly just curious about the physical side of things—how are your cards holding up with long reasoning runs, and what kind of temps/throttling are you seeing on your setups?
