I’m wondering why these models are approved faster for some people and not others. For example, my friend requested Sam3 and it was approved within 2 hours. I requested few hours later and it has been 2 days and I’m still waiting.
Why the inconsistencies in the approval process?
The approvals are not done by Hugging Face — they are done by the model owners, by hand, in a queue. So the inconsistency is usually just queue position: your friend’s request landed when someone was clearing the queue, yours landed behind a pile. Two things that actually move it: fill in the use-case field properly (blank or one-word answers sit longer), and request from the account you will actually use. If it has been more than a few days, requesting once more is fine.
