Some issues with the assistants

Hello HuggingFace,

there have been some issues with the assistants. Ever since a button to add a document was added and then removed, things have not been working properly.

Even when the internet research assistant is disabled, it still tries to perform web searches.

There are often errors and freezes in the responses, and the text field no longer accepts any text.

Thanks for taking a look at what’s causing the assistants’ instability, especially their tendency to want to web surf despite the disabled settings.

There is many “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again.” after the responses, and which prevents you from typing anything in the text field, and forces you to click on the regenerate button, which leads to the same thing.

The fact that the assistants are performing web searches when web search is completely disabled means something is seriously wrong. You made a change on Thursday or Friday that has rendered the assistants completely useless. This is very sad.
