Trying to use Git LFS because HuggingFace’s file size limit is smaller than GitHub’s makes it really cumbersome to migrate a repo from GitHub to HuggingFace.
I spent hours today creating my first HuggingFace account and trying to push my first repo, but no luck yet:
I think that, if the file size limits can be increased to match those of GitHub, it will enable many people on GitHub to transfer to HuggingFace without any issues (without needing Git LFS) which could be a really good strategic move for HuggingFace.
For now, as awesome as HuggingFace is looking, I may have to stay on GitHub because it seems like migrating to Git LFS is a big pain. I would love to be able to come back to this later and simply git push my GitHub repo and it works, without the LFS hassle.
