Hey fellow educators and ed-tech enthusiasts!
I wanted to share something exciting that’s totally changed the way I run review sessions in my classroom: AutoGEN + Factile!
What’s AutoGEN?
AutoGEN (short for Automated Question Generator) is an AI-based tool that can generate quiz questions from any content—textbooks, lecture notes, PDFs, even webpages. You input your material, and it spits out multiple-choice, true/false, or short-answer questions in seconds. Think ChatGPT, but for quizzes.
Why Combine AutoGEN with Factile?
If you’re using Factile – the Jeopardy game maker for your classroom, you already know how powerful and engaging it is. But pairing it with AutoGEN makes game creation lightning fast:
AutoGEN builds the questions
You plug them into Factile’s Jeopardy-style template
Boom
—instant review game that feels customized but takes minutes to build
How I Use It (Real Example)
I had to prep my 7th graders for a unit test on ecosystems. Normally I’d spend an hour building review questions. This time I:
- Copied two pages from our textbook into AutoGEN
- Got 15 solid questions in less than 60 seconds
- Imported them into my Factile game board (5 categories, 3 questions each)
- Launched a review session in class—with buzzers and all
Kids LOVED it. Participation was off the charts. One even said, “Can we do this every Friday?”
Bonus Tips:
- Use AutoGEN to differentiate: You can generate simpler or more complex questions depending on your group.
- Factile has remote play mode—great for hybrid or flipped classrooms.
- If you’re tight on time, use AutoGEN + Factile to create quick exit ticket games too.
Would love to know how you’re using AI + Factile to streamline your planning or boost student engagement. Or if you’ve got AutoGEN alternatives you recommend!
