Siyo (Hello!) Everyone.
I am new to the whole AI side of technology. I am a member of an indigenous tribe and our language and culture is dying. We lose elders every other month and more and more of our heritage / culture is being lost to the sands of time. I see potential in AI as a penultimate way of preserving and possibly help teaching the language for future generations.
My inquiry is… where can I start? Are there guides and such to help me setup a model to learn our language? I tried putting in our syllabary into ChatGPT and after some training, it got words for animals correct. The end goal would be to make it like ChatGPT to where people can ask it questions and it returns the appropriate answers, ultimate end goal would be to have it use vocals from locals to pronounce the works with proper pronunciation.
This all sounds like a lot (at least to me) but I’m willing to put in the work.
