How about changing AI to EI?

I just wanted to throw out an idea.

Artificial Intelligence seems wrong. Engineered Intelligence seems right.

I’d say we humans are a creation of the very same things we Imagineer. I know that is a Disney word but it does describe us.

Your thoughts on the change of terms.

That’s a great point! ‘Engineered Intelligence’ does sound more accurate. Using ‘Engineered Intelligence’ internally could help us think more precisely about what we’re building.

It’s actually simulated intelligence but neither are marketable like Artificial intelligence :grin:

Ai only actually exists in marketing. ChatGPT and etc are 1st generation probability calculators and probability calculators are not Ai in anyway shape or form other than marketing. So technically you can call it anything you want because Ai isn’t even the correct name for it. Me personally. I call them bots. That being said the official name is actually Artificial General Intelligence. Which doesn’t exist. Yet :cat_with_wry_smile:

Well Moo, I was thinking that how we refer to what we do could be a form of Mantra. A thing with a ring we chant without even realizing we may be demoting ourselves psychologically.

Why would our output be artificial or synthetic. Perhaps we can tell ourselves we do Engineered Intelligence.

I mean some folks get up and chant in their bathroom mirror, I am a winner.

Edit: My opening and first attempt of philosophical discussion.

Well it is one of those moments I think I had a clever idea.
This allows for have some Philosophy play I do believe.
This play is rather new to me conversationally.
